This Anthrenus Verbasci- better known as a varied Carpet Beetle. This beetle does not harm humans, but loves to destroy fibers in carpet, furniture pieces and clothing. - regular insecticide can be applied. Here is some history on this insect - en.wikipedia.org/
Looks like your bug belongs to the carpet beetle family.
These can be brought into your home with plants, clothing or just find ways through cracks in screens, doors, etc.
When you find one it is best to do a thorough cleaning, especially vacuuming your rugs (move furniture), also clean any 'fabric' furniture. Discard cleaner bags in outside garbage container.
