I bought a Mersman side table with a light marbled stone top. What type of stone was typically used in these tables?

Do you have a picture? I only know of leather tops and white marble. Are you asking what kind of marble? An antique dealer would be able to tell you...but since these were low to mid price items new, I am guessing it is just a basic what I call a carrara marble. Which is the whitish gray with black veins. The ones in the house I grew up in had some vaguely yellow tinges also.
The ones I saw on eBay had marble tops.
