You can use several techniques to eliminate underarm odor on your prom dress. This will depend on the fabric and if it's washable.
Baking soda works great for neutralizing odors. Make a paste with baking soda and water. Apply to the stain and let sit for 15 minutes. Use water to wash the baking soda.
Salt also works well to get rid of underarm odors. I dont think this is a good idea in your case because you need to soak the area in water and salt.
Vinegar is another powerful odor neutralizer. But like salt you will need to soak the area in vinegar and water. This might not be good for your dress.
I would use the baking soda and water technique. Afterwards, take to the dry cleaner and have them clean the dress for you.
If it washable, put shampoo under the arms and wash. If not, ask the dry cleaner to deodorize that area.
White vinegar soak! Then a regular soap wash.
Use baking soda, vinegar, and dish soap, scrub a tooth brush. Then wash with washing instructions that came with the dress.
activated charcoal and enzymatic cleaners (found in any store) are great for neutralizing and eliminating smells of an organic nature
