I have a 1 and a half year old male German Shepherd. He is right around 80 lbs, but seems small when compared to other male Shepherds or even the female we had before him.He doesn't seem to have that fluffy coat that makes them look fuller. Any suggestions on how to help him put on some healthy weight and muscle?

There are two breeding lines of GSD's. The German line is stockier, wider and fluffier. The American line is taller, thinner and less fluffy. I have had both. My current GSD is of the American line, rescued from a bad situation but with papers. You can see in this bad picture just how skinny he is. Your boy is gorgeous.

Hi, just wonder if it's normal for my GSD to weight around 55pounds and she is turning 3 years old in 3 months. I bring her to vet and did checkup but vet was saying she seems healthy after they did blood tests on her. i am worried that she has EPI but it doesn't seems like the vet in Asia know much about this issue. I ordered some EPI enzymes and probiotics for her but that doesn't seems to help much.
Hey i too have the same problem but mine doesn't seems much like gsd can you tell me what is it
The posted information regarding different country conformations are correct. Talk to the licensed breeder that is registered with the Canine Control in your country. Veterinarians are not Breed survey experts. In any case will it really matter what his appearance is unless you intend to show him (he must have pedigree papers). Just love this beautiful boy for who he is and the loyal companion this world wide breed will be to you.
My male German Shepherd is 10 years old and weighs 75 pounds. He just had a vet checkup today and is in great health. 80 pounds is not underweight. What does your vet say?
Ive had gsd's my whole life and even at 1 1/2 they're actually not fully developed they'll have their height but not their full weight potential they grow than out I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep feedind them and exercise they will bulk up before you know it and fast
I have a 1 year old male. And he seems just a little skinny in the hind leg and waist area. I don't think that it is normal. I mean I just upped his food intake to see if that works... he is a very active dog. Just want to make sure he is heathy

I have a German Shepherd dog that is 9 months old, but he is looking small. How I can get him bigger?

Contact the registered licensed breeder you purchased the animal from and in the best interest of their kennel prefix they will assist you. Alternatively if bought from a "back-yard breeder" or "pet-shop" don't expect any assistance.
First off, when you bought you dog, I hope you made the purchase from a reputable breeder and not from a pet store, as most of those dogs have origins from puppy mills. While at the breeder's kennels, you would have the opportunity to see the parents. Were either of them small ? You never said whether your dog was a male or female as generally females are about 10 to 15 lbs lighter than their male counterparts.
German Shepherds normally reach physical maturity at 18-24 months. Curiously, some of lines mature even more slowly and do not reach full maturity until 36 months of age. Generally their growth rate slows noticeably at 6 months and continues minimally for about 1 additional year.
