Upcycled Painting

November 10, 2021

The completed upcycled painting.I like to save things to re-use and I painted a canvas and glued on things I had around the house to make a very decorative painting. If you don't have a canvas, you can use stiff cardboard or any hard surface.

Everything on the canvas is from an object that would have gone in the trash. The best part is that I used my imagination and had a wonderful time doing this and it was satisfying to make something pretty and useful.

Total Time: I spent 4 hours

Yield: Save as many things as you have around

Source: The best resource is your imagination

Supplies:

  • canvas or stiff cardboard
  • various recycled items
  • glue
  • paint
Recycled materials to use on the painting

Steps:

  1. First, I painted the background with left-over acrylic paint.
  2. Then I made a design and used a strong glue that I found at the hardware store to glue on the objects I had collected. I used different sized bottle caps, leftover cut up string, popsicle sticks, rusty chain links, cut up toilet paper tubes, Styrofoam, silver pie tins and silver cardboard from pastry box tops, and plastic tubing I found and painted.
