A year ago I cracked my upper alveolar ridge in numerous places and on Jan. 4th this year, I had all my teeth pulled, except my 2 lower eye teeth. I can wear my lower denture with no issues; however, I can not keep my upper denture in for more than 5 mins at a time.
My denturist says it has nothing to do with my cracked alveolar ridge and that I need to keep them in at all times. I spent a lot of money for both temporary & permanent and am very upset that I can not get rid of the gagging. I am to the point of throwing my temporary dentures in the garbage. I am so sorry that I had them pulled. Any suggestions please.

If this is the case you may need to visit a specialist for this issue to seek some help. There has to be a reason you feel like gagging when they are in.
I would contact another dental provider and get a second opinion. It sounds like you have a lot going on here and I would hope that a second professional can give you solutions.
Do be aware that many will want you to consider implants vs. dentures. Implants work for some people but they are very expensive.
When trying to find another provider, look for one that will work with you with the denture (if that is the way you want to continue) vs.
Implants are big business...so steer clear of places that have that in their offerings if that is not the route you want to go.
It could be something as small as an adjustment, tips to train your mouth on how to hold the denture, or even a new adhesive option may help.
Sending prayers to you for solutions.
Post back with an update.
Thank you so much.
Will definitely look inti this.
Take and get a second opinion before throwing away!
