My husband took the empty domed package that originally had 30 cds in it and recycled it into a bagel sandwich holder. The hole in the bagel lines up perfectly with the post in the case. It kept his bagel/tuna salad sandwich perfect for lunch.

One should never under any circumstances use anything to store food that isn't manufactured for food. Todays plastics contain certain chemicals that are toxic. The food containers are made without the toxin. Food containers cost very little. Plastic wrap is safe. Please people, look this up if you don't believe me.
My only worry would be the safety of putting food in plastic that was not food safe...
That is a really creative idea. Hurry and patent it before Tupperware or Rubbermaid steal it from you. Good Luck!
