Do you have a costume jewlery ring that makes your finger green? You can prevent the discoloration on your skin by painting the inside of the ring with clear nail polish. Takes two to three coats, let dry thoroughly between each coat. You'll have to touch up occasionally. When you see the discoloration coming back, repolish your ring.

Very clever idea, I never would have thought of that! My Mom has some jewelry that turns her fingers green, but she still likes it. I will pass this tip along to her. Thanks! Thumbs up! :)
It's funny, because my costume jewelry rings have never turned my fingers green, but my 14K gold wedding ring used to turn my fingers black when I wore it all the time. Especially if I was in a stressful situation. It washed off, but the ring started out with a florentine finish and a pattern of rings. All that wore off, and it looks like a plain, gold wedding band now.
My husband wears his all the time, and the florentine and pattern is still on his.
