My granddaughter had scarlet fever a few months ago and her lips were super dry, being so sick. Her doctor recommended Vaseline only on them. She was staying with us but when she went home to be with her mom, she didn't have any Vaseline. I was trying to figure out what to put some in and I remembered I had a full case of unused contact lens cases. I put some in it and it's been the perfect solution, not only for her but for my son too.
I now carry one with Vaseline in it. It's small enough to fit in your pants pocket or anywhere else. A lot cheaper than buying lip balm and the cases were a set of 6 for only a few bucks and reusable.

Im happy the child had a complete recovery. I was not aware scarlet fever was still a threat
This is a great idea. You could also keep Tiger Balm, Mentholatum, Emu oil, tooth paste and all sorts of things. Excellent way to help your granddaughter and share a useful tip, too.
