Use Magnet To Pick Up Nails After Construction

After a renovation or construction outside, there are quite often loose nails lying about. Rather than trying to find them and pick them up, construct a sweeper board with high-powered magnets to do the work. Using car speakers from an auto wreckers, attach them (about 4) to a piece of board. Few people realize that they contain strong magnets.

Once attached, attach a rope to either end and drag the tool around the yard. It makes a quick clean-up of nails and other steel debris.

If you have access to old computers, the hard drives also contain very powerful magnets which is what we actually used. They were super-glued onto the board and dragged about.
