Helium balloons looks fabulous at any party BUT they are very expensive. I thought of an idea that could allow you to cheat and that is to inflate your balloon and then pop inside a small magnet.
Then tie a ribbon (as you see in the picture). Glue magnets to a strip of ribbon at intervals. Leave to set according to the instructions of the glue.
Do several ribbons. When the magnets are set attach a balloon to each magnet. Now all you need to do for the party is tack the ends of the ribbon to the ceiling.
50 small Neodymium disk magnets are a little over £4 on eBay. Considering a helium gas canister costs about £30, you would be saving quite a lot of money.

This is an imaginative solution to a problem; however, small magnets, especially the powerful nyodimium magnets have been involved in the death of several children. Children may swallow the magnets which then connect in their intestines.
I would assume that any balloon that burst would be tidied up-including picking up the magnet. Always best to be careful when small children are about.
Careful parents would ensure safety at all times :)
Frankly, I don't understand this tip at all. What problem is this supposed to solve? What purpose do the magnets serve? Isn't tacking the ribbons to the ceiling an awful lot of work, especially with a large number of balloons, as shown?
I just stick a small loop of cellophane tape on top of each balloon and stick them to the ceiling. A small piece won't mar the paint in the few hours they are up there. Cheaper too.
