Put your perishables in a cooler. This will allow you to make multiple stops and not worry about food spoiling. This tip is especially useful in the warmer months. If it's really hot, throw in a couple of ice packs into the cooler.
Note: I found this cooler at the curb when I was out power-walking. I brought it home, cleaned it up, and it looks like new. Coolers like this are over $35!

I've been doing this since I moved to Fl. Always kept a cooler in car .... Otherwise Popsicles and frozen food would never make it home 13 miles from store!
I do the same thing! I like to "cherry pick" the grocery stores based on weekly ads, and the cooler with freeze packs allows that, even in the South!
