Hydrogen peroxide is effective for blood stains and other organic stains. It can have a bleaching effect so you will want to pretest it before applying it to any stain. For blood stains on carpet, pour peroxide directly on the stain and blot with a clean cloth.

It can be used as a gentle bleach. You can use it with a pressing cloth and a hot iron to gradually remove stains.
It can also be used to lighten your hair and create highlights, by saturating a cotton ball and applying to areas around your face, and thereafter to growth areas, on very dirty hair!
Use mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with water for a mouthwash. It is also good as an antiseptic for puncture wounds; the bubbles help clean the wound. Put in your ears to get rid of ear wax. Or you can apply to your pimples to dry them out. It is less drying than OTC remedies.

I use it to disinfect clarinet and saxophone reeds. It also gets rid of the dark spots that sometimes appear on them. I sometimes soak for about a week.
I mix peroxide with mouthwash instead of water for a dental rinse. (01/28/2009)
