Does anyone have any good ideas for making a craft or reusing the M&M mini's candy tubes?
Goodness, so many uses. If you near toll roads, it'll keep change.. if you sew, it could keep buttons, or needles if you have a student, it could hold pencil erasers, lunch money, asprin, breath mints, you can put it in younger kids' lunches for notes or reminders, you could put rings in it if you are doing sports (some PE classes do not allow ANY jewellery anymore). keep it in the jockey box with band-aids, for small cuts. more ideas: crafts, it could hold beads, use each tube to indicate colour if you are THAT organised... Barbie shoes may fit, so you don't vacuum them up later... earrings, contact lenses or samples of mouthwash, soap, shampoo... Getting any more ideas?
This is not a craft but a very good use for the tubes. I keep toothpicks in them. I have one in my car , one in my purse and my husband also keeps one in his work truck.
The larger size are great for crochet hooks! Keeps them all together and easy to find!
I USE THE SMALL ONES TO KEEP QUARTERS IN THEM FOR METERS. IT IS THE PERFECT SIZE. AND I CAN KEEP ALMOST $5 WORTH.
This is not for craft use, but those of you that go to the laundry mat can now place your quarters in these great tubes...the small ones hold $14 in quarters...no more struggling to find your loose change.
Have seen the M&M tubes decorated by kids for storing homemade bubbles and kids make their bubble wand out of coat hanger or craft wire. Add a string and make into a necklace too.
we use them for training dogs to scent! Drill some holes - fill them with cookies and get your dog to choose the one with cookies!
I like to camp and hike. They work well to keep candles in, keep the days worth of treats, wooden matches. There are a lot of uses while hiking. Fit well in back pack.

Does anyone have any uses for the plastic tubes M & M's come in?

Are you referring to M&M Minis? Fill with quarters if you go to laundromat. Make into a necklace to hold cash for outtings like Six Flags. Create a mini first aid/sewing kit/medicine holder for purse/backpack good for camping. Tampon holder maybe? Store beads. Make mini suprises for kids.

This thread has several throughout of little poems that you write or print to be included with little momentos like:
Friendship in a Bag Survival Kit
(some items might have to be customized to be able to fit in the cannister tube)

If the lids on those are flat:
I saw a craft using empty film cannisters where they used a strong waterproof glue to glue a rock to the lid. They put a space house key inside the cannister and then hid it outside (bury the tub in the dirt with only the rock showing)
Decorate and use to hold tooth/reward for the Tooth Fairy.
Storage for:
- toothpicks
- cotton swabs or balls
- matches
- mini sewing kit
- spare buttons
- thimbles or sewing needles
- small condiments for lunch box
- rings or earrings holder
- safety pins
- organize small craft items like beads
- organize small office supplies like paper clips
- sort & store garden seeds
- store spices & herbs
- store hardware: nuts, bolts, nails, etc
- pill or vitamins when traveling
My mom uses one os those tubes to hold quarters. This would be a handy way to take them to the laundromat or to a gaming arcade.
You can use them to hold arcade tokens.
