Using Frozen Hashbrowns

December 23, 2005

HashbrownsWhen making potato salad, use frozen Ore-Ida hash browns in the bag. Just thaw for 10 min. and then proceed to make your salad with these potatoes. Saves time and tastes great. You will be surprised.

I use frozen hash browns in soups, too. Be sure to get the cubed kind not the shreds. Also, look at the ingredients. Some have been partially browned in shortening! Yuck!!! Get the kind that are simply potatoes, nothing else. I make a chicken chowder with them, cubed chicken, chicken broth and corn. Yummy, easy and healthy with good crusty bread on a winter's evening.
