How do I divide a tube of L'oreal hair dye evenly in half so I can use it twice? I only need to use half of the ingredients for each hair dye using L'Oreal Excellence. The coloring creme used to be in a dark bottle that was easy to divide in half. Now it is in a tube so I cannot tell if I have squeezed out half or more or less. Each tube says it holds 1.86 fluid ounces. How can I divide the contents so that I use half and save the other half for the next time.

Fill a developer bottle with slightly less than 2 ounces of developer. Then squeeze the color into the bottle. When you get slightly below the 4 ounce line you have evenly divided it in half.
I am trying to divide in half. The developer has 2.53 ounces in it so half would be only 1.25 ounces. The cream color has 1.86 fluid ounces in it. There are no markings on either for ounces. If I find a small enough measure cup I can measure half into it and then dump it into a saved empty dispenser bottle but is the ounces listed on both bottles the same? Just ounces vs fluid ounces? Is one by weight and one by volume? I am not sure I could accurately measure .93 ounces and the cream is thick so a lot of it would then get stuck to the side of the small cup I used to measure with. I tried doing it by eye and the first half of the cream tube I used turned out to be too small an amt.
Hi,
There is no guarantee that the dye will work later than one hour after it is opened and the dye and the developer are mixed. Unopened bottles of hair dye will last three years.
