When using Purple Power in the laundry, do you also use detergent or no?

Purple Power is primarily a concentrated all purpose cleaner for almost everything but clothes and that is why you'll find it in the automotive section or an auto parts store.
If you plan to use this in your washing machine be very sure you know how much to use as it makes a lot of suds and may take 3 or 4 washings to remove it if you add too much. I could not find a formula to use but from reading online I would think you should use less than 1/4 cup and that may be way too much.
We may be able to help you find a better solution to your problem if you described what kind of stains you are trying to remove.
Grease stains? Try coke or GoJo hand cleaner before laundry.
