I recently saw that Skin So Soft can be used to remove fur from clothing, but I'm not sure of the proper way to do it, i.e., add to laundry detergent, rub on clothes, etc.

I would NOT do this. Skin So Soft is great for a lot of things, but I would not put it on any fabric.
The best way to get fur off of clothing is with those double stick tape brushes or a Gonzo Pet Hair Lifter. The tape brushes are cheap but one time use items, the Gonzo are reusable and also kinda work like a Magic Sponge thingy and are good for other cleaning.
That may stain. Use a lint brush. I got mine at the dollar store.
I really would not do this one at all. Lotions and products like this can stain your clothes and leave marks on them. It is best to use tape or a lint brush to get off the animal hair on your clothes.
