Using Tiny Garlic Cloves

Gold Post Medal for All Time! 555 Posts

A cutting board full of very small garlic cloves. My sister gets a ton of tiny garlic cloves from an abandoned garlic patch that she has and while I appreciate them, they are a major pain to husk and peel.

So I tried cutting off the hairlike roots and some of the outer peel and dropped them into my tiny crockpot for an hour.

When I removed them and let them cool, then rubbed them between my fingers their covering fell right off! They didn't lose any of their juicy essence either!

I used some immediately in a spaghetti sauce and put the rest into a small jar with olive oil in the refrigerator to use in various recipes.

Just a simple thing, but such a time saver for me I thought I'd share it.

Hi Donna:
Did you add any liquid to the crockpot?
