Add one cup water to the bottom of your crock pot. Then insert one Turkey bag (the ones you use for roasting oven bag), fold edges over the outside of crock pot - so that is has been lined with the turkey bag. Add ingredients and cook your favorite recipe as normal. After you are through just throw away the bag -or- if there are left overs just tie it up and put the in the fridge for later use. By Chell |

So you don't close the bag and cover the crockpot then? I was going to close it and cover the top with tinfoil. Would this not work?
Why the water?
I think it is to keep the liner from sticking or melting to the bottom. I see many sites that mention it and others say it is unnecessary. The company doesn't recommend using oven liners in a slow cooker but instead to purchase the slow cooker liners instead, which have the opening on the top instead of on the side.
Is it less time this way
Do I cook it the same time as if I didn't use bag in slow cooker
