I have taupe walls throughout my home with white molding. I bought 2 cream window roller shades, but didn't get the valance cartridges. Big mistake. Now I'm shopping for window valance curtains to kind decorate/hide the roller of the shade. What color valances should I go with?
Also, my home is open floor plan. So my dining area has 3 windows (like bay window style) how would I put up the rods and valances without it looking crazy? And can I do a different color valance in living room area to go with my charcoal grey, white furniture? Or should I do same has the kitchen area valances so it flows?
Please help me!
Thank you.

Choose two of the colors you already have and add a third color like red or orange. Use a print or stripe.
So firsts, decorating is about what you love! There are no rules (at least in my world).
We have spring loaded rods in our windows and the valences are threaded through those. I love them and would never go back to the kind of valences that go on the outside of the molding around the window.
Is that an option for you?
Our window casings have an two levels of depth--so it allows two tension rods to be in the window well--on the one closest to the glass I have a sheer (in your case you would only need one because the closest to the glass is your roller blind) and then blocking the first rod (in your case the blind) we have a second tension rod with the valance threaded on it.
The tension rods are easy to adjust and stay well. I love the look in my living room.
As for colors...what about a pop of color like a red or deep blue or a turquoise? They do not need to be the same in each room. Our living room has a purple valance and our dining room which is right net to it, has a flowered valence. All of the windows have the white sheer.
My go to when I am decorating is to go to Pinterest and put my ideas in the search bar and look at what comes up. It is so much fun to shop Pinterest BEFORE I do anything!
Post back with what you decide!!
