I have a complete set of the 1923 World Book Encyclopedias and the other is a four-volume set published in 1921 about the great world war. I am just wondering if they have any value or what they are worth?

Your set may be worth a little more than the average set of encyclopedias but selling them is another matter all together as these sets/books are generally very, very slow sellers - eBay and Amazon are the best sites for books of any kind.
It is difficult to even give these away as most thrift stores and library book sales will not take them as they generally do not sell - at any price.
If you want to try and sell your set, I would recommend you list them on your local Craigslist for $200 and keep listing until you get someone interested and you can decide to lower or raise the price at any time.
Here is a site that explains a lot about the value of encyclopedias and their current value. The second link is to books that recently sold on eBay and price paid. Your set will not be there but you can get a general idea of value.
Your set of books about great world war may not be very valuable as there are so many versions available and people are just not reading these any more.
Here is a link to what is currently listed on eBay so you can get a general idea of what books about the war are being listed for (not always sold for that price - if ever sold).

I would recommend doing the same thing with these books as your encyclopedias and maybe start a price at $40 and make changes if necessary.
