Where can I find the value of this Mersman side table?

This is fancier than most side tables. I would ask $150
Thank you for responding, it is according to the underside a mersman, there are no flaws that I can see, my only concern is that there is only 3 numbers underside instead of 4, for identifying a mersman.
Your table looks to be in good condition but pictures do not always show flaws or if a piece has refinished and condition plays a big part in the value.
I totally agree the pictures do not show flaws as this one from what I can see has no flaws except of course 3 numbers instead of for as mersman tables are identified another issue I have is I am not sure how old this table is
I apologize as what I was meaning was that mersman are identified with 4 numbers from what I was told and I only have 3
There is no really "set" amount of numbers for Mersman furniture as no set pattern (or even a set meaning as far as we can find out) was used. Different factories used different numbering systems but it does seem that as the ownership changed a different name and style marking was used.
That is why I mentioned that a picture of the marking might help us place a date of "either before 19xx or after 19xx" but the date will probably not make a big difference in the value as most pieces are just stated as "mid-century".
Thank you for all the responses this certainly does help me,
This is a really beautiful piece! Stunning!
You have been given a lot of good suggestions. Have you tried taking photos of it to a local antique dealers? They may be willing or able to give you more info.
I am thinking this piece is pre 1950, possibly a 1940s piece when glam pieces were big. This oozes glam to me!
I looked on some of the bigger furniture auction sites other than eBay and found nothing, which is a bit surprisingly since there were so many Mersman pieces made... millions over the company's long life. I can almost always find an example when hunting for one to match.
Please post back anything you learn about the history and value. I am a huge fan of the pieces and when I see one I have never seen before I want to learn as much as I can!
Thanks!!
Thank you for your response, I will definitely get back as soon as I learn more about this peice, I too was thinking somewhere around the 40's.
I researched for a while still really couldn't pin point true era, I really thought around the 40's also, I decided to spend a little, take it in and have it valued by an expert, turns out it's more than I thought it would ever be!
They placed it between 1900- 1906
Valued at 900.00
I'm dumb founded, as I paid 15.00 at a garage!
I am thrilled for you! You not only got a great bargain but a truly lovely piece! Thanks so much for letting us know!!! So cool!!!
Thanks to all, as we all know this doesn't happen to often, and I do feel for the people who really don't know what they truly have before selling their items in a garage sale.
Again thank you for all helpful suggestions, as it was truly needed.
Happy hunting!
Information like this is always a pleasure to hear - thanks for letting us know what you found out.
It looks like a beautiful table and certainly not one that is seen very often and - truth be known - your table may sell for even more than $900 if it was placed in the correct auction house.
Generally when you get an appraisal from a one on one visit they may be giving you an appraisal for insurance purposes so you should always ask if this is for insurance or could it be for retail value.. It is generally stated that an appraisal (unless stated as retail value) is approximately 40% higher than actual retail value. Perhaps your written appraisal certificate states if it is for insurance purposes - if not, then you should be able to call the appraiser and ask this question.
You may still want to ask for an online appraisal just as a backup to what you have and you may even gain more details about your table.
Thank you, that is very good advise that I really must check on, this sight has been amazing for helpful hints and suggestions .
