Mersman tables are popular but their value really depends on style, condition and availability.
- Mersman number really mean very little as there is no list of what any of those numbers mean.
- Most all of these tables were made around the same time (over 30 million pieces) and generally just noted as "mid-century".
- There is no list available (that I have ever found when researching) detailing anything about the numbers, dates made, styles of tables, type of wood used (and many types were used), so it just means everyone has to search the auction sites for any information on their tables.
- When doing research for your table you may find asking prices from $50 to $2000 but these are just that, asking prices, and in real life mean very little.
- What a table actually sold for is the only way you can place a true value on an item and then, that does not always work because you can never tell when another person would want even that same table or what price they would pay.
- Sometimes we get fooled and a person comes along and for some unknown reason wants a particular table and will pay a good price.
- Shipping is always a problem and very costly - that is why you will see most furniture listings as "pick up only".
