How much should I charge for these matching Mersman mid-century end tables?

They sell for $45 to $55 each individually. Charge $95 for the pair.
I have seen them selling for $650 online. Mid century collectible is supposed to be in demand. Could you tell me how you came to your figure?
Hi! These are great MCM pieces!!
Mersman's will last forever also since they were built for use.
I have not seen this exact pair sell recently online so I cannot give you the EXACT market value TODAY. I can give you some general info and help you decide your next steps:
I see there are (as you found in your research) folks selling these EXACT pieces on Etsy asking $650. There are folks selling them (EXACT ONES) on Chairish in the $200 range. The bad thing about both sites is you can't see sold prices (at least I have never been able to find something that confirms the SOLD price which = today's market value).
I have seen the exact items on Letgo sell for $40 a piece, but it has been a while and I can't remember what city that was in (not Pittsburgh).
So what this tells me is it depends on where you are what the value of the pieces will be today--meaning how much someone will pay you for them.
Where I am in Pittsburgh, MCM is very popular and the Mersman pieces can fetch decent amounts. But in some places there are tons of these pieces around and no one wants them so they sell for very little.
Do you have a reputable second hand shop in your town that you can ask the owner to help you value in your location?
If not, then my suggestion is to post them on a site where you can sell them in person (selling online is hard because of the shipping part of it). Ask high--like the $650 and go in every week and reduce it until it sells which I am guessing will be somewhere between the $650 and the $40 depending on supply and demand in your town.
I have been selling stuff for more years than I can count and sadly, this is how the market works these days.
Last year I sold off a hand carved, very heavy, very ornate bedroom set that was quite old and for under $200 (I am in Pittsburgh) and I was lucky to get that much.
If I was in the UK and had sold it at an auction it would have fetched in the thousands. Now there was no way I could get these huge pieces to the UK and even if I did, the shipping would have been so expensive I would have lost money.
I guess my point is you have to decide what do you want...a lot of money or to get them out of your house and get some money for them?
Sellers can ask what they want for things, the buyer dictates the value as they are the one paying!
I love to learn what things sell for in other parts of the country so if you would be so kind as to post back when you sell them and let me know how much and where you are, I would be most grateful!
Thanks for sharing!! I do love the Mersman pieces!! They truly were a staple of almost every home in their hey day in the 40s-60s.
