I have a Murphy 711 rocking chair. Do you know when this was made and approximate value?
Thank you.

You can contact Collectors Weekly here www.collectorsweekly.com/
The company is still around, not sure how friendly they are, but you could always ask them to help you date it:

It has a nice craftsman vibe to it, which I would place in the mid to late 1920s, but I know there have been remakes and that part is hard to tell without seeing it in person.
As to value, that is very regional. Where I am craftsman pieces are often highly valued and people would pay in the low $100s for a chair like this.
In some places there are a glut and they pay much less. In others there is a huge demand in they fetch a little more.
Ask around to local resale shops how much it would cost to buy one then know you can ask 1/4 to 1/2 of retail.
Lovely piece!!
If there are no marking on the chair then it is really hard to try and date this piece. The only way to find out when it was made is through a dealer of this type of furniture or even going directly to the company to ask for some help.
