Value and Era of a Bassett Dresser?

A wooden Bassett dresser. So I bought this at the Salvation Army about 6 years ago for my elementary aged son. I never looked at the brand I just thought the size was perfect for him. A few months ago I renovated his room and now bought a black dresser (to match his headboard, nightstand & desk). Except for some dings where the handles are, the dresser has been a pretty solid piece over the years. I saw a Bassett stamp on the inside and did a search, shocked by how expensive their furniture is (I don't think I spent over $50 for it). I tried looking for a similar piece, but can't find one. I'm not sure even what kind of wood it is. Maple? Oak? Can you help me? Thanks for your time.

Your dresser is in excellent shape and hopefully you can sell it for a decent value. Bassett furniture seems to retain its value and pieces like this are selling for around $500 or so online. Reselling this piece will depend on your area and where you are living. The price varies by regions. Selling online can be a bit harder because this will require you to compete with several hundred other people who are trying to sell their furniture online. I think the best way to try and sell this in your area to avoid the hassle of shipping it to the buyer is through Craigslist or another local personal AD paper in your area.

You can also try and set this outside in your area and see if anyone is interested in buying it. Keep in mind to find out the value in your area you will need to do a bit of research to see how much people are willing to pay for this. In some areas people no longer want this type of furniture and will not pay much at all where in other areas they are willing to pay a lot more.

This is pickled pine circa 1980s. It was sold in the late 80s and early 90s. My parents purchased this bedroom suit in 1990 for me as a young girl, 8 pieces including a full/queen headboard, nightstand, chest of drawers, dresser, mirror, desk, chair, and hutch.

I still have all the pieces with the exception of the hutch and chair. I'm not assistance on the value, but can confirm the time period.
