I cannot find any history of the maker of this trunk. I'd like to get the value or near about. And to maybe know what it was used for. There are a couple Adams express stickers on it. (One included in photos)

You are fortunate that your purchase label has a date - Sept. 12, 1900 - so that provides a good start.
Also looks like it was purchased from Hamilton's Store in New York, NY.
Some of the other letters/numbers that are stamped on the wood may mean something to an expert on trunks.
Adams Express stickers will probably show information from trips that were made with this trunk.
