I have a full set of the 1924 World Book encyclopedia. I am wondering if they are worth anything to sell. I feel bad because they are just sitting in my living room.

Many people have old books they think are valuable and would like to sell. Most old dictionaries, references etc., have very little value, a few dollars at most. Encyclopedias dated after 1923 are essentially worthless but crafters may be interested for the old pictures. Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc., receive donations of tons of old encyclopedias, dictionaries and reference books but send them to recycling centers or dumps as they cannot use or sell them.
Ive seen them on Etsy for $40-$100
It's almost 100 years old. Take it to three book dealers for appraisals
Almost nothing. Vintage book collectors rarely want encyclopedias unless they are pre 1900. Libraries rarely want encyclopedias unless they are current and up to date and thrift stores will not accept them as they just take up room. Sometimes people into arts and crafts will take them or even teachers but most are just not worth very much and even if listed on an auction site - it may take a very long time to sell - if ever.

Sadly not worth much. My husband is a bart time auctioneer and these never sell and end up getting thrown out. Sometimes women will buy them for crafts.
this question seems to come up a lot. since they are valueless go through them and find some pictures to frame of things you like-trains, birds, monkeys etc
Hi,
If you still have these, I'm interested in purchasing if you would be willing to ship via media mail to Houston, TX. I look for encyclopedia sets dated pre-1950 and would pay a reasonable price for the set plus shipping charges.
Please let me know. Thanks!
