About $20 or $30. You can wait until they're 100 years old to reach more value or find someone who will buy them for more for repurposing efforts.

Many people think older encyclopedias sets are valuable. Here is some information for you about the set of books.

  1. Books over 100+ years have a value to collectors providing the book, binding, and pages are in good condition or fairly good condition.

  3. Many people try to sell an old set of encyclopedias on eBay and they either sit there for a long time or the listing is cancelled.
  4. The library or Salvation Army doesn't want these donations because they have way too many.
  5. Normally on eBay the selling price is quite low, but the shipping price is quite high.
  6. It cost too much to box the books up and ship them to the buyer.
  7. Maybe you can find a person who would buy the books to use for firewood or even cut them up for crafts.
  8. You might be able to make around $20 to $40 on the sale of these books.
  9. Nobody is interested in these books because all the information is online and the books are outdated.

Sadly, encyclopedias are a thing of the past and only very select sets are of more value than a few dollars.

The real value of your set is what anyone is willing to pay. With that in mind, if you are interested in selling, I would suggest listing the set on Craigslist and ask whatever price you wish as you can always reduce it if it does not sell. You may have to keep it listed for several months.

Antique encyclopedias worth.

Step 1
They are not worth anything.

Step 2
No one really wants them anymore.

Step 3
We have so much technology today with computers, and phones.

Step 4
That is where people get there technology and information.

And their spelling? Yeah, no-one wants to really learn anything anymore, since they seem to know it all. As an academic librarian, I find some of these off-hand comments a little ignorant.
Their value is whatever a book lover will pay.
