These enclyclopedias are not worth much, unless they are over 100 years old. You are better off donating them and taking a small tax deduction.

It is unfortunate you'll have to wait a bit longer to sell these books if you'd like to make some money. Any book now that isn't over 100 years old is almost considered worthless.
Collectors are only interested in books that are really old. People today won't buy old encyclopedias because the information is online.

Usually there are several sets of Encyclopedia Britannica for any year listed on auction sites but I could find only one for this year - 1943.
- That may not really mean very much but it is unusual and especially since it has a lot of information on World War II.
- The actual age of a set of encyclopedias does not always determine their retail value but condition means a lot in value.
- I believe you could sell your set for a minimum of $100 but maybe even more (since you say they are in excellent condition) but how long it would take to sell is another matter.
- Many sellers list sets on auction sites for months and months (even years) and some never sell. So even if the set is worth this much money you may be a long time getting it.
- It is not easy to list on some auction sites but listing on your local Craigslist is easy and you may be able to sell your set faster as there would be no shipping involved and someone could see the actual books before buying. You must always use caution with letting a stranger into your home so always keep that in mind.
- I would suggest listing the set for $250 and lower the price if no one shows any interest. Be sure to have several photos and describe some of the highlights (World War II for sure).
- Here is the set I found listed on eBay..

They won't be worth much until they hit the 100 year mark. I'd post them online for $50 plus shipping and hope a crafter will come along to repurpose them :)
