There are not very many listings showing for the World Scope Encyclopedia for any year but there are some year books and single volume books listed for sale.
The series/date of publication is what buyers are interested in so a different year's value may not have any bearing on a different year.
I did not see any listings for 1954 but there are a couple of other years listed that you might place a watch to see if they sell. Even though different years a sold price could give you a starting point.
This is a 1959 set (not in very good condition) but probably way overpriced at $249.

You may want to take some good pictures and list your set on several sites with a starting price of $200 and just lower the price if no one shows an interest.
Books are not usually fast sellers.

There are not any listed for this year online so it is hard to tell what the real value of this set of books is worth. I did find a way for a person to download these books online for free. You can use this site, register, and upload your image of the books and they can value the books for you.
