Value of A 1950 Portable Sonic Capri 333 Record Player?

An open portable record playerI was just wondering what this record player is valued at. It is a 1950 portable Sonic Capri 333, in the original case. It is in good working condition. It does have some writing on the case from a dear friend of mine from back when she was in her teens. She passed a few years ago & would now be in her 70s.

In 2019 a person listed this same record player on eBay for the price of $49.99 + shipping. The listing was taken down and I can not find out if the player was sold or not. It appears he was not able to sell this and decided to remove the listing for it.

I have found a second one listed on eBay that is selling for parts only. The person is asking $34.12 for the broken player.

Here is another one listed that appears to be in the same type of box yours is in that they are asking $179 for it.

They have discounted this because it has not sold. You can check out this listing and see if it is the same box as the one you have or not. www.ebay.ca/.../292861221143?hash=item442fe39917...

It appears that this particular model must have a lot of problems as almost everyone that I've found is been sold 'as is' either for parts or has something that is not working properly.

Asking prices do not reflect a 'current value' as only a sold item of the exact same quality/condition would be considered 'value' and with items like this that will never happen as each one will be in very different conditions.

I only found one that was sold and that sold over a year ago. It needed repairs and was sold for $50.

This one appears to be in good working condition but is in a different style case (really nice looking) and seller is asking $50. No way to know how long it has been up for sale or if it will sell.

I believe the condition of your case will lower the value even if yours is in working condition.

If you wish to list yours for sale I would suggest listing on sites like Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, offerup, letgo, etc so you can list it on several sites and also list it as 'local pick up only' as shipping would be very expensive and also difficult to ship safely.
You can start your price higher (whatever you wish) and if it has no takers in a few weeks then lower the price and so on.
Be very sure you list the description correctly.
