I bought this at an estate sale. Berkey and Gay. I thought it may be a magazine holder but I can't find any others like it. Any idea on what it really is and approximate value? I'm in the midwest.. Measures 23 inches W x 13 inches D x 26 inches H

Berkey & Gay Furniture Company began its roots in 1866 in Grand Rapids, Michigan creating fine furniture until 1948.
This magazine holder has a brass round tag with the words BERKEY & GAY FURNITURE and C with the O in the center. This tag is from 1905-1929.
"By 1905 Berkey & Gay had adopted a new trademark consisting of a series of concentric rings. A circular line surrounds the words BERKEY & GAY FURNITURE which surround a C with the O as the center. This mark appeared as an inlaid wood tag or paper label for a short time, then was replaced by a brass tag.
I think this is from the 1920s and having a value of $300-400 resale, but it depends on where you sell it.

Your item is actually called a traditional 'Canterbury' or magazine rack or sheet music caddy.
Your Canterbury is more elaborate than most of the ones you will see listed for sale.
I did find one that looks like it is very close to your model and
the asking price is set at $735 but this is listed on Charish and this site is always higher than most sites.

This Canterbury is more elaborate than yours and sold for $675 about 2 years ago.

Furniture is costly to ship and many times the final value will be determined by where the item is located.
I believe that if you paid less than $400 you probably got a nice deal.
I hope you intend to make it part of your home as it is a lovely table.
Should you decide to sell it, I would advise you to ask for a free appraisal from one of these sites just so you know what it's true value may be.
A similar B & G magazine rack is listed for $735:
