Value of Children's Encyclopedia Britannica?

I am just wondering what the value might be of the Children's Encyclopedia Brittanica 12 volumes, 1960 Edition?

Value of Children's Encyclopedia Brittanica

  1. Since the set of encyclopedias aren't over 100 years old, they don't hold much value at all.
  2. Many people feel that older sets of encyclopedias have a high resale value or they are valuable is a misconception.
  3. Schools, libraries, Salvation Army, and other types of thrift stores or organizations won't accept these any longer. They have way to many donated to them and normally end up sending them to a paper recycle center.

  5. People try to sell these sets on eBay, but end up cancelling their listing. They don't sell.
  6. Furthermore, the cost of boxing and shipping these heavy books to a buy is more expensive than the price they pay for the books.
  7. Maybe you can try an old used book store and see if you can donate or sell them there.
  8. You might be able to find some crafters that are interested in the books for the pictures they have.
  9. Other than this there isn't a lot you can do with these old encyclopedia's except give them to your grandchildren or maybe a neighbor with small children.

Encyclopedias are generally not worth very much and many people just do not have the desire or room to own a set of books like this.

  • It is a shame that most children had rather look at and read from the Internet than from books.

  • This is true even at school and it starts at an early age - even kindergarten.
  • There are several different sets of Children's Encyclopedia Britannica so you may have to try and find a similar set on eBay or Amazon.
  • Of course, all you would see is an "asking/listing" price which does not mean very much as what a buyer will pay is the only true value.
  • Books are expensive to ship and a lot of trouble so most sellers usually list book sets as "pick-up-only".
  • That is about the same as listing on Craigslist.
  • Actually, Craigslist is the best place to sell as you can list high (maybe $75) and reduce the price if no one seems interested.
  • And, no shipping involved with Craigslist.

Encyclopedias dont have much value with the internet being used. Only antique books have value

Worth of children's encyclopedias.

Step 1
They are not worth any more than five dollars.

Step 2
No one wants them anymore.

Step 3
We have too much technology at our finger tips with computers and phones.
