I have a set of 15th edition Encyclopedia Britannica that I am interested in selling. They are in mint condition with the original shelf. I am wondering what they are worth. Also, any ideas on where to sell them would be much appreciated.

Unless they are over 100 years old, you wont get much for them. Donate them and get the tax deduction.
On Ebay they are only $25 to $50. Maybe a auction would bring more!
These types of reference books are not highly sought after right now because all the information is outdated and posted online. If the books are over 100+ years old then collectors normally buy these books.
I don't see a photo so I can only give you some general info.
There are several different covers of these encyclopedia so my best suggestion is to go to eBay and look at Sold auctions and find yours to get today's current market value.
There was one set without the cabinet for over $400, several others without the cabinet that sold in the mid $200 range.
Once you find an exact match for your set, that will be today's current market value. I noticed all of the sets that sold seemed to be with buyer paid shipping, which is surprising--these are so heavy, that you usually see local pick up only.
That tells me there are some of these that are highly sought after that buyers are willing to pay shipping in addition to a bid amount.
eBay is the best place to sell for exposure, but only if you are an experienced seller. Local venues like through Next Door, Facebook local sale/want and trade groups are good since no shipping, but you will not get what people get on eBay for them.
Let me know if you match your set to the eBay sold ones and how much yours is selling for. I hope yours is the one in the $400 range!!
Thanks for asking!
