I have a set of Encyclopedia Britannica 1768 that is in its own little bookcase. How much is it worth? On the top of the bookcase is a much larger book that fits into its own notch.

If you have an actual 1768 set, it may be valuable and you can get a value estimate at an auction house. However, the 1768 set was reprinted in 1971 and was designed to look as the authentic original, stains and all. If you have the 1971 print, it is worthless.
I have one full set and it is not reprinted one. It is original 1768 and I have full set.
What about a 1962 full set?
Would you like sell that set
I have a complete set 1968 what can you tell me
I have A complete set of 1768 Britannica is with the copyright date of 1959 in a book case. I also have books of the year from 1961 to 1982. Can you tell me how much this collection is worth?
How can I find an auction house to take my Encyclopedia Britannica 1768 to confirm it is authentic?
How about a set in perfect condition from 1964? Index included.
So I have a set but it says 1967 does that make any difference
My husband auctions part time. sadly, most books are not worth much, and often get thrown away at the end of auctions due to no one bidding on them, or if they get added into another lot, the purchaser throws them away rather than haul them home.
You may find that the large book in the back is more valuable. It has amazing Mylar like pages showing parts of the human body. As I remember, it was more of a reference book that did not get outdated as the regular volumes.
First - the value of most encyclopedias (even nice sets w/bookcase) is very low. Of course, there are exceptions but these are rare books or sets.
The real publishing date, condition of books as well as the cover material determines the final value as well.
Are you sure you are looking at the date correctly?
The last date mentioned is the actual date of publication - the first date is the date of the original printing and is very rare.
I do not believe you would find a 1768 set with that many books and probably not in new looking condition.
eBay is the best place to find good information on most anything you wish see what has true value.
