I have a 15th edition Encyclopedia Britannica, heritage edition. How much are they worth? Will/could they increase in value in the future?

Encyclopedias are not worth much. People get current, accurate information online. You are better off financially donating it and using the donation as a tax deduction.
Many people have old books they think are valuable and would like to sell. Most old dictionaries, references etc., have very little value, a few dollars at most. Encyclopedias dated after 1923 are essentially worthless but crafters may be interested for the old pictures. Libraries, Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc., receive donations of tons of old encyclopedias, dictionaries and reference books but send them to recycling centers or dumps as they cannot use or sell them.
It seems 15th edition does not really mean very much as there are numerous years and covers relating to 15th edition.
Condition and cover mean a lot in this type of set. Usually the older sets do not sell for very much, so unless you plan to keep them for many, many years it seems now might be a good time to sell.
But, saying that, book sets are usually very slow sellers and some sellers have these listed on auction sites for months, and even years before or if they ever sell.

here is a link to books actually sold on eBay over the past several months:
it seems there are hundreds of thousands of people with old encyclopedias, my roommate included. trust me,get rid of them because they are worth nothing and probably have more bugs and mold in them than anything else
Sadly, they are not worth anything. My husband is a part time auctioneer and these are never bid on, and always thrown out. However, there are some neat things you can do with the pages (see pinterest) or you can hollow them out to use as a hiding spot for valuables.
