I have Encyclopaedia Britannica sets and I'm just wondering if they have any value. They are in brilliant condition as I don't think most have even been used.

Unless they are over 100 years old there is little demand and value for them.
You will have to research by date and edition to find if any have sold in the past several months.
Research eBay with edition to see what sellers are asking for similar sets.
Asking prices are not representative of value as these are just prices a seller thinks his set should be worth.
You can check on sold listings from this page (find sold listings on left side of page) to see if a set like yours has sold in the past several months.

Some editions are not very popular and may not sell for more than $25-$50 but others can be more valuable.
Thrift stores will not usually take these sets for free because they are too difficult to sell but sometimes they sell when listed on Craigslist, USA4Sale, Nextdoor, and other sites that can be listed as pickup only where shipping costs are not involved.
