I have a full set of a black leather bound Encyclopedia Britannica, 15th edition, 1977. There are 29 volumes plus an extra year book. All are in excellent condition. What is it worth?

It is worth very little. 1977 is not 100 years ago, which would have made it an antique.
Anyone buying reference books looks for ones that are over 100 years old. Yours do not qualify for this requirement. Therefore, today people consider these outdated and not worth much at all.
On eBay they are selling for an average of $250. This is sold prices, not asking.
But the caveat is they are being sold with "free" shipping, which means the seller is paying to ship and shipping for these can cost between $50 and $100 even media mail (US) so the seller is only netting after fees in the $100 to $115 range.
That is still a tidy amount!
Post back how your sell!!
