If it is truly from 1881, it is an antique. It would be worth more if you had the complete set. Go see a dealer.
Normally collectors will want the complete set of books for their collections. However, it can be possible that a person will buy just 4 volumes of the set. The price you will receive will greatly depend on the condition of the books, the cover, and which volumes you do have.
Can you please post photos of the outside cover and the inside where it gives the details (title page)? Also, which 4 volumes to you have? I want to be sure to give you as accurate info as I can for exactly what you have. Many thanks! Looking forward to helping with more info!
