My husband found this mower in an old abandoned house that he was tearing down. I'm curious to know the value of it; considering the condition it's in. Thanks in advance!
It is rare that an older mower is very valuable and usually it is either a really rare collectible mower or a good brand name that has been fully restored/good working order.
One problem is they are not really shippable due to the size, weight and having remnants of gasoline in the tank.
This means it would have to be listed as 'local pick up only' and the value would then be determined by what sort of area you have the mower for sale.
You might try listing it on local sites like: Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, USA4Sale (your zip code) and start a price higher and lower it if no one shows an interest.
This mower is from the 1950s. I imagine it has less than $25 value -- even for someone interested in restoring it, in selling parts, or for vintage outdoor decor. Looks neat though! Someone was probably lucky to have it back in the day.
It looks like an Excello walk-behind lawn mower Model 184 www.outdoorking.com/
The Model 184 is from 1854.
Does it work?
There is a vintage Lawn-Boy from 1955 with engine service manual for C $ 600 www.ebay.ca/
but I don't think it's that easy to sell a vintage lawn mower at that price.
A vintage Excello reel mower was sold for only $5: www.k-bid.com/
I think the price of your Excello lawn mower is not high too.
