I am trying to get some info/determine value of a gas powered reel mower I have. It is an Ideal Whippet. Ideal was purchased by the Indian Motorcycle Co. in 1945. Ideal was based out of Michigan, but Indian manufactured in Massachusetts.
This mower says it was manufactured in Springfield, Massachusetts, that is where the Indian plant was. The wheels even have an Indian logo etched on them like hub caps. I can find no info on the Ideal Whippet, no info on what happened to the Ideal Motor Co. after it was acquired by Indian or any evidence that Indian had anything to do with making lawn mowers.

If the mower is clean, restored, and working people are selling them for around $80. If the mower isn't working and needs a lot of work you can get around $25 for the mower.
Ideal whippet lawn mower was built in Lansing MI. 1940. The Ideal patent owner is R. E. Olds. I think 1914. I own a 1951 REO Runabout.
