Value of Lane Cedar Chest

Value of 1935 Lane Cedar ChestThis is a 1935 lane cedar chest. Interior is perfect and original, including signage. Original hardware. Not sure if lock has been replaced, as it seems newer. Some fading in front. What would be the value?

I believe this is from 1956 not 1935. The number read backward ends in 56. This is an unusual model. I think 100 is a little low. It is supply and demand based so maybe that will be perfect for your market.

If it was mine, I would start at 250 and take best offer. Post back how your sale goes!

Because this is 7 MN umber, the 6 would have been the number of th plant manufactured in. At least that is what gleaned from my reading. That's why it looks more art deco than mid century

i agree with PGHgirl that $100 may be too low unless you know this is a good price for your area.
Usually it is best to start higher and discuss offers - especially on Facebook Marketplace because the potential buyers will be dealing straight with you - no 'middle' man.

Be patient as these can sometimes be slow selling items.
Good luck with your sale.

Your Lane Cedar Chest has the number 653190. To determine the production date read the serial number backwards:
read backwards the last two digits 90 - this is the month 09 (September),
then two digits 31 - this is day 13,
then read backwards the two digits 65 - will be 56, this is year 1956.
Date of manufacture September 13th, 1956.
I found looking exactly the same lane cedar dated 1956 instappraisal.com/.../1950s-lane-cedar-chest Therefore Pghgirl40 is right and there is no doubt that your lane chest was made in 1956.
