I am getting ready to redo this piece of furniture. It is a Lexington Sweet Dreams commode and I know Lexington is one of the top furniture producers. I don't want to paint this if it is a value. Does anybody know how much it's worth or how I could find out?

Looking at the back of your commode suggests the back has been removed and reattached and I cannot help but wonder why?
It does show some damage to the finish but pictures are not sufficient to determine the extent of the damage.
I cannot remember for sure, but I believe all of Lexington furniture had their brand name either 'burned' into one of the drawers or had a metal 'plaque' applied. Does this piece have Lexington brand inside the drawer?
I also think it would help if we could see how the drawers were put together. A picture of the outside side of the drawer could help determine the age.
I also believe this piece was made post-90s but that's still a good age.
I'm not sure you can determine the value of vintage furniture by seeing what sellers are asking for 'similar' pieces as each piece has something entirely different about it (including style, color, age, condition, and location (costly to ship)).
If the condition is not very good then maybe a redo would be a good suggestion. Of course, the redo would have to be at least semi-professional or the value would not hold up.
Why not look at some of the vintage pieces that have been painted and see what you think?
This is a good example (maybe not the color) but these do sell - if the redo is good;
I would take a good look at this item and make your decision on how it looks to you. A brand name alone will not bring high value if the item is not in good to very good condition.
Location is also important as shpping is very costly.
There is one Lextington vintage commode for sale for over $500 . This one is vintage, and a little bigger. I would go with $200 to $300 , for the right buyer and value. www.ebay.com/
I read an article written in 2006. It said Lexington has doubled in price. Price it at $500 and lower if it doesnt sell
Lexington Furniture prices can vary depending on size, time period and other attributes. A Lexington Victorian Sampler Commode/Nightstand 391-623 was sold for $195 www.etsy.com/
I am trying to confirm this may be a 1999 piece. Reproduction to look old. If so, a good flea market flip paint will improve value. Can you tell me if the back is plywood or particle board or something else?
This Lexington table has the top drawer and the door @ the bottom and is priced @ $525:
