I got these at a garage sale, both for $25. Any information will be much appreciated. I am thinking on sanding and painting them, but will wait for advice.

Well - you did get a bargain but I'm not sure about sanding and painting these tables unless you are familiar with redoing Formica. If you plan to try and sell your tables then I believe you should give them a good look and see if you can just freshen them up. Of course you may have some terrific idea in mind and some do sell that have been redone so that would have to be your decision.
There are several sites that have these listed for sale and some have sold (but for not very much money) and some sold some time in the past.
The best place to look for your tables is on eBay and Etsy. Listing prices are just a price a seller would like to receive for an item but only a sold item can be shown as 'current value' and there are too many factors that makes that an untrue statement also (location, condition).
When doing research the numbers do not mean a lot as many sellers never use them.
I did find this pair of similar end tables for $599 but not the same tables as yours.

This appears to be the same as yours. You can place a watch on this listing to see if it sells. Listed for $349.

Here is a listing for one table but this seller stands to lose money as they have (in their listing) free shipping and that could cost them a good part of the asking price. $88 with free shipping? Bad

You can check out eBay's sold listings to see what people are buying and what they are paying.

You can find sites like this (too many sites for me to check) but not enough info to make any decisions.

I would suggest you try selling them on local venues like Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, and any of the numerous other sites that let you list in your local area so you can show these as 'pick up only'. Start your price high and lower it if necessary.
Mersman products hold there value! There is a set on eBay, asking $599 for the set. I think painting them in a tasteful color would be great to show off the details of the tables.
These are magnificent tables! Hold on to these beauties for sure.
These Mersman tables were produced in Celina Ohio Factory in early 1970s. Both of my parents worked there in the finishing and rough mill areas the factory from late 1969 to 1993. I grew up in a working Mersman household.
Do not try to restore them because you will ruin the veneer.
They were a good buy for what paid. In 1975 they were $125 per pair ( my parents had 2 and they had employee discount)
