My friend has this 1 qt Corning Ware casserole that looks like the L'Echalote was printed over the blue cornflower. It is the same on both sides. Is this valuable?

Generally speaking, a mistake in common items is very rarely a 'collectable' thing and most people would not be very interested.
However, it is difficult to tell for sure so it's best to ask just in case the general rule does not apply.
I do not believe it would be as valuable as the same item that was not misprinted but that is just my opinion.

CorningWare originated in 1958 in Corning, N.Y.
"Vintage CorningWare" is considered to be pieces made prior to 1999, when the brand was sold to World Kitchens. Patterns produced in limited runs, and therefore harder to find, draw the highest prices in today's market.
Some patterns are considered rare, for example Black Starburst (percolator only), 1959-1963; Blue Heather, 1976-77; Butterscotch, 1969; Nature's Bounty, 1971, a limited-edition gift line; Platinum Filigree, 1966-68, a limited-edition gift line; Renaissance, 1970, a limited-edition gift line; Medallion, 1972-74, an olive green, stenciled design that was a Shell Oil Co. promotional piece and never sold in stores.
Your Casserole Dish casserole is rather unusual, it has two patterns: Blue cornflower and L'Echalote Spice of Life. These patterns are not rare.
Cornflower blue was the first pattern used by CorningWare - petite blue posies on a solid white background - which was produced for 30 years. The Cornflower range, with a blue floral design, is the most common pattern.
The prices of Corning Ware Blue Cornflower 1 Quart (P-1-B) Dish with Pyrex Lid (P-7-C) range from $9.99 to $35.00 (Shipping not specified) www.ebay.com/
The prices of Corning Ware L'Echalote Spice Of Life 1 Quart (A-1-B) Dish with Pyrex Lid range from $11.99 to $49.99 (Shipping not specified) www.ebay.com/
and even there is a price of $700 www.ebay.com/
The presence of two patterns makes this Casserole Dish unique, but I don't know if there will be anyone willing to buy it. I think you can try to sell it for a high price.

I dont think it is valuable. I see all kinds of Corningware being given away on my Freecycle group.
