What is the value of this old PQPAT 1918 lawn edger? It's been in the family garage for over 75 years.

PQ stands for 'Pennsylvania Quality' and there is not very much to be found on this brand reel mower or edger.
I did find some vintage similar mower/edgers for sale but sold ones were mostly on Worthpoint site and they do not tell the sold price unless you are a member but as a general rule most of their sold items like this were sold several years.
This listing is currently on Etsy but I have a feeling the price may be a little high.

I found this PQ item that sold last month on Etsy but they never reveal their sold price.

Vintage mowers do not seem to be selling right now but if you decide to list yours you would need to clean it up and make sure it is working properly.
You could list it on sites like Craigslist, USA4Sale, Facebook Marketplace, offerup, letgo, Ioffer, and start your price higher - maybe $150 with best offer considered, and even free local pick up, and wait a few months but if no offers then lower the price and wait again.
This is a good site to join and ask your questions, especially if you need help with getting it ready to sell.

Sadly they are not valued as much. There are collectors out there that have a love for vintage tools. The right buyer would be a collector and not for uses , it would be for display. Here is one that was on for bid pricing - www.k-bid.com/
Thx for useful information & help.
Great help.
Thank you very much for your excellent research. There is a grandson who works in the gardening business who now might want to keep it in his own garage for the next 50 years until he had grandkids to tell them where he found it.
Older reel mowers and edgers are a nice handy tool to have around your home if they are cleaned up and the blade sharpened. There are a lot of people these days that are starting to buy push mowers for their homes. Older push mowers and lawn edgers don't bring in much of a resale value because people can buy new ones for around the same cost or value these are selling for right now.
