Value of Schwarzburg China?

Value of Schwarzburg China - stack of bowls and platesI found 16 pieces of vintage or antique Schwarzburg Germany, gold rim pattern, 1904, white, 22K gold rim china. There are just 8 plates and 8 bowls. And all I could find online to match or give me a history was a platter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like this is your pattern, from Replacements.com:

www.replacements.com/.../rscrsc40.htm

The history on Replacements.com says it is a discontinued pattern that started release in 1919, but for some reason they don't have the date the pattern ceased to be made.

You could always call them and ask. I have had a lot of lovely dealings with them.

They can tell you if they are buying these dishes and that would be the best way to sell if you are intending to sell.

You would just have to make sure what they give you for them will be worth it because the cost to ship will be very expensive since plates need to be wrapped so heavily and should be double boxed to protect them in transit.

I was zipping around to see if there are any sold examples anywhere and all I can find is current listing of a demitasse set that has been sitting unsold on Piclick and eBay for a long time at $14.00.

When you are doing your research, often times sellers have no idea the pattern name so you will frequently just see it listed as "Schwarzburg Floral Gold Trim"

Post back if I can offer any other assistance!! Thanks for sharing!

I have tired to look up the history and find out more information about the China set you are showing us, but there isn't much online. The best information I can find is on Replacement www.replacements.com/.../rsc.htm and this does not really tell you that much about your set.

You might want to visit an antique shop and take one of the plates or bowls with you. They will be able to give you a better idea about how much this is actually worth.

Thank you! I have a couple of antique shops in San Diego that I can visit. If the Replacements website can't help me then I will try them.

Nice china and one that I'm not familiar with but research shows it has been produced for a long time.
From research I did find this china was made in Germany, France and Austria so I do not believe you will be able to find what country yours was made.

I did find the same listing that Pghgirl posted on Replacements but unfortunately they do not have any pieces in stock so no prices are given.

Pattern: RSC40 by Royal Schwarzburg

It actually appears that Replacements in listing all of their Schwarzburg China as 'Royal' Schwarzburg China and, although some may think it is a play on words, their Schwarzburg China does not appear to be 'Royal' Schwarzburg China.

Schwarzburg China with this marking was produced from 1904 -1924 and Royal Schwarzburg China was produced from 1924-1930 when they closed their business.
All true 'Royal' Schwarzburg China has the wording 'Royal' in their marking.
I can only assume that Replacements has just lumped the two together.

Foreign eBay sites has a lot of true Royal Schwarzburg China but US eBay calls their pieces Royal but they are not the true name.
It appears that it really does not make a lot of difference in value except some of the later accessory pieces are listed at high prices.

I'm really only mentioning this because of the dates because I'm a 'stickler' when it comes to brand names but this is mainly to clarify the dates.
Your china was made between 1904-1924.

Replacements is probably the only place that may give you the value but they will probably only do this is they wish to buy it. Their quote will be very low as the pieces are not fast sellers and any item that retails for $10-$12 will be very low value in their eyes.

Just as information I have some links to true Royal Schwarzburg China.
Check this link (near the bottom) and review the pictures and dates of this brand of china.
