I am trying to find out the age and value of my 2 antique sideboards.

There are way to many different styles out there and without more information it is so hard to narrow down the search to find yours. Look on the back of each piece, under each piece, or even in the drawers to find out what you can. If they are older pieces then they normally are marked with numbers, letters, and the company who has made them. If you can find this info please post it here. If you can't find anything then you will need to seek help from a antique shop in your area to tell you more about them.
It would help a lot if you could find markings, numbers, company logos and also type of wood!
Placing an antique buffet in the foyer helps to bring formality and beauty to this important area. The foyer presents the first peak into the home and sets a pleasant tone to the entire house.
Can you show photos of the drawers and the type of joinery there?
Are there any markings in the drawers, under the drawers, on the back?
Is the back hardwood, plywood, particle board?
What do the hinges look like? Can you show a photo
Are there magnets holding the doors shut? If so, can you show a photo.
It is very hard to tell anything just looking at the fronts.
It is almost impossible to tell age based just on fronts because there are so many reproduction pieces out there.
As for value--once I know more, I may be able to help you value them. Where are you located? Furniture sales are regional and what sells for high values in one place, may have no value in another.
Hopefully with more info I can point you in the right direction! Thanks for asking!
